ONE

Brenn turned 1 on June 2nd. When we took her in for her 12-month exam she weighed 18 lbs 7 oz (10%) was 30 1/2 inches long (90%) and had a head circumference of 17 3/4 inches (50%). I guess she had a major growth spurt since her last check up. The doctor said the difference in height and weight percentiles wasn't really a worry since that is where she has always been, but to just keep her on healthy fats, etc. I mean the child literally eats everything we put in front of her (and lots of stuff that we don't) so it looks like she may just be blessed with the metabolism of a supermodel (lucky girl if that's true...is it wrong to be jealous of your 1 year-old?!?)

At 12 months Brenn:
*Is a super speedy crawler and is starting to take her first steps (she will take a few on her own and then slowly lower herself down to crawl, so I am sure its going to be any day now that she will just take off)
*Loves music (and just can't help herself but to dance when she hears it...her signature moves are the head shake, the booty bounce, and waving her hand or her pointer finger to the beat)
*ADORES her big brother
* Has 6 teeth (four on top, two on the bottom)
*She says "HI" all the time (is sometimes accompanied by a wave), claps and says "Yay," also says "Ba" (for ball/book), "Dada", "Baby", "Mama"/"Meme" (for Mom), "Bye", and "Bop" (thank you Ellie for that one)
*Loves to give kisses (especially to Carder) and to snuggle
*Loves to be tickled and laugh (my favorite is her fake laugh when she hears anyone else laughing...heaven forbid she be left out of anything!)
*Is a total girly-girl (loves to have her toes painted and loves her some"bling" (anything sparkly/shiny))
*Likes any toy that makes music/sound (or anything that Carder plays with)
*Likes to play peek-a-boo and sing songs (Her favorite is 5 Little Monkeys Swinging In A Tree...she just giggles her little head off when it comes to the crocodile part)
*Is super sweet and mild mannered (though recently she will let you know if something is not going how she would like it to)

The one above and the one below are good representations of her eyes...there has been some debate as to what color they are. They are dark blue with brown in the middle, so I dunno what you call that?!? I think we have come to the conclusion that they are hazel. What do you think?
