At 18 Months Brenn:
* Loves music and loves to dance (and has recently been trying her hand at singing, she sings "Baby, Baby, Baby Oh" and can kinda do the ABC song up to G).
* She has been babbling for a while (for example, she will look at you and go on for a few minutes telling you something that seems like she totally knows what she is saying, but we haven't quite clued in yet. Jake and I are always saying she is just going to skip the words and start talking in sentences.) She has been acquiring new words everyday and repeating a lot of things (especially when we are reading books). But she consistently says: "Thank You" (she's a little confused on this one she says it not only when being handed something but also when she gives you something, but I guess over use of manners is better then not having them); "Baby," "Mommy," "Daddy," "Book" or "Read Book," "Ball," "No," "Kay" (for OK) "Hi," "Sippy," "Nigh Nigh" (for goodnight), "Nummy" (for Banana) "Apple," "Ellie," "Nose," "Toes," "bye bye" "pretty," Tu Tu" (one of her favorite things to wear are these leggings that have a foofy skirt attached to them and she calls it her Tutu)"exused please" (though its more of a voice influction than the actual words)"drink," "Cookie" (she says the sound of it with a breathy "Coo" and the main inflection on "Key" but still really breathy, sort of like how Cookie Monster from Sesame Street says cookie) "more," "Ewe" (when I am changing her stinky diapers) "Cheese," and "Show" (her favorite is Little Einstein's and I just love to watch her watch it (mainly because of how she participates with the show). At one point in the show they ask the children to help them get their rocket going by patting on their laps. Brenn stands up and says, "pat pat pat" while patting her thighs and then the show says we need more power do it faster and you hear Brenn yell "pat pat pat pat" and hit her thighs harder then she raises her hands in the air and says "blast off." Its one of my favorite things ever. I've tried to capture it on video, but of course, whenever I pull out the camera she either doesn't do it or she finds the camera more interesting and comes to check that out instead); and I am sure there are a few more that I am just spacing on right now.
*Is super strong-willed and a tad bit dramatic. When Carder was her age he would just say whatever we told him to. Brenn is not so much like that--it's more on her terms. She also has a bit of a temper and will throw her head back when she's mad or has been known to put her face into her hands to cry. Its just funny to me how very different these little people come.
*She is a big-time mimicker. She's funny when she is learning a new word, she says it, but she more says the sound it makes (like the voice inflection you would use when saying it). She also copies everything she sees. For example one time we were giving her some pasta and it was still a little bit hot. Jake blew on it to cool it down before putting it in her mouth. Brenn is a big do-it-yourselfer, so she soon wanted to feed herself and not be helped by mom or dad. Every time she would get some on her fork she would blow on it a couple times before she'd put it in her mouth even though it was totally cooled down. Silly girl.
*Loves to take a bath. She will sometimes beg us saying "bathtub" or "bubbles" so she can get in. A little water and a squirt of dish soap makes that little girl's day.

* Knows her animal sounds (My favorite is her awesome Roar she does for Lion, Tiger & Bear)
* LOVES books. I'm pretty sure if we had to pick out what her favorite toy was it would be books. She especially is fond of the Brown Bear books, "Humpty Dumpty," "Elmo Loves You," the Bright Baby books and nursery rhyme books. We had to hang our kid bookshelf on the wall because all day long she would just pull all of them out so she could look at them (not quite grasping the concept of one at a time or putting things away once we are done with them). The book shelf being on the wall has given me back a couple hours in my day (thank goodness), but the little trickster has found ways of climbing on certain things (like her toy chest) to reach them on her own again.
*Loves to draw/color. She still has times where she decides to do a little crayon tasting, but is getting better at using them the right way. She especially likes to use pens.

* Loves babies. Baby dolls, real babies she just loves them. She is such a good mommy to her dolls rocking them, patting their backs and tucking them in under a blanket to go night night. She is equally if not more obsessed with real babies. When baby Jet comes over she just has to get right over there and give him some kisses, caress his little head and lay her cheek down right next to his face. She will wander off to play again after a bit but every time she comes back into the room he is in she just has to do that all again, and again, and again.
* Is a bit of a Mama's girl. There are some days she insists on being an appendage of mine. We are working on that one.

* Loves to get and give kisses. She is funny when she puckers up to give one she pouts out her lower lip kind of putting it over her top lip and then once she kisses you she will say "muah!"
* Loves her big brother. She just adores that boy, and thank goodness he is so sweet to her (seriously I hit the jackpot on kids getting along/loving each other). She loves to play with him, laughs at everything he does (and boy does he love to perform for her), really loves when he reads her books and gets super excited when he comes home from school.
* Is a total girl. She likes to dress up and especially likes to wear necklaces/boas. It is pretty common to see her with four necklaces stacked around her neck. She has most recently started to adorn herself with headbands and bring me shoes to put on her or find our shoes and wear them. She also likes to get ready with Mom. I usually have to sit her in front of me in the sink whenever I am doing my hair or make up and she likes to get into everything. She has her own chapsticks and quite enjoys putting them around and around and around on her lips. She also loves to get her toes painted. She will open up the nail polish drawer pick out her color then climb up on the toilet seat and stick her toes out at me, (she sits on top of the lid for me to paint them) hands me her chosen color and I know just what she wants.
* Is a climber. Not so much loving this. She has learned to push the dining room chairs out and I am constantly finding her on top of the table (Bah...ER visit just waiting to happen). And I have even found her on top of Carders dresser before (I thought girls were supposed to be the calm ones!)
* Loves to load and especially unload things. (another thing that I am not loving...especially when it is her clothes drawers, the silverware drawer or the kitchen cubbards).
* Can count to three
* Can point out her body parts (Nose, Eyes, Belly button, toes, etc.)

*Wants to help with everything...laundry, dishes, vacuuming, cooking (she especially likes to help add things into the kitchenaid for rolls or cookies)
* She had the funniest walk/saunter. We have wood floors all through our house and you always hear her stomping around (I love it, I will miss that so much when she stops). The most unique thing is how she walks, she kind of arches her back and sticks out her booty (I kinda got a picture of it to the left), its hilarious and makes me just want to eat her up
* Is the sweetest and most loving little girl and super friendly. Whenever we are out and about she is always smiling at the people passing by saying "Hi" to them. Making eye contact is a little unheard of out here in Massachusetts, so some people warmly reciprocate, and other people I think are a little freaked out by her.

| And I just had to include this one...at this point she was DONE with Mom's pictures and it just captured her little dramatic flair perfectly. |
