Over the past few weeks we have been lucky enough to be visited by some family. This last weekend Vegas put on this concert called "Bite of Las Vegas." It was a charity event where a bunch of bands came and played from the early afternoon into the night at a park here in town. My mom and sister Brittany came in to join us for it. My cousins Jared and Brandon also came since their Mom lives here too. Jared, Brandon and Kimi went all day long, so they could position themselves front and center at the stage. The rest of us came in the evening to see the last two acts which were Sara Barrielles and Switchfoot. During Switchfoot's performance the lead singer held onto my cousins hands and Kimi got to hold him up as he surfed the crowd. We really enjoyed just being at the park getting to listen to some music, but watching Kimi, Jared and Brandon just made it that much more enjoyable. They came back to us after it ended (We had kids so we were sitting off to the side on a blanket), and you'd have thought they were 13 year old girls who had just touched the Jonas Brothers. It was great!
The Fam
Our Fam (with Carder doing his infamous cheese face)
Baby Ellie
Carder loved sitting up on Jake's shoulders listening to the music. He got into it and was up there clapping etc. It was super cute.
The Best Buds
Carder doing something odd at the concert...he was pretty excited to learn some new rockstar moves since he is pretty much convinced that he is a rockstar. Most days he is running around the house all day playing air guitar or drums, jumping off things and doing the rockstar arm spin (The one where the guitarists arm goes in a giant circle when they do a huge strum on the guitar...I don't know if I am explaining it good...but when you see it you'd know). He loves singing "I wanna Rock" and "Jamies Cryin," but most of the time changes the name to someone else like "Mommy or Daddy" so he can tease (another one of his favorite things to do these days).
Carder loved having everyone here for the weekend. He made Jared and Brandon do all the rough housing his little heart could desire, got to help take care of baby Ellie, and had his best friend Jaxon to be his partner in crime. They made Halloween sugar cookies, had a pudding picnic party in the backyard (why they chose to eat it in the empty pirate pool, I have no idea?), and did lots of playing.
A few weeks ago Jake's mom came down for the weekend. Carder was so excited to have Grandma here. She played whatever he wanted, wherever he wanted (lots of outside time) for two days strait. He was very sad to see her go.
Grandma also came bearing prizes such as a new book and a bubble gun...very exciting stuff for a 2 year old!
It had been Georgann's birthday a couple days before she came, so we made her a little Birthday cake to celebrate. Carder was very excited to get birthday cake and and to help blow out the candles.
